Using JustGiving
How do I create a fundraising page for Barnardo's?
Creating a fundraising page on JustGiving is simple. Firstly, go to the IKEA UK & Ireland Store page and select the store or centre where you work. You'll see a button on the Store page to 'Join the team' which will take you to either create your own fundraising page or link an existing fundraising page.
Can I link a fundraising page I already have to a Store page?
Definitely! Simply select the store or distribution centre you'd like to join and click the 'Join the team' button. You'll then be able to link an existing fundraising page to the Store page.
Can I make a donation to a Store?
It's really easy to donate to your store or distribution centre if you'd prefer to do that than fundraise. Just go to the IKEA UK & Ireland Store page and find your store. You'll see a 'donate' button next to each store. Just click the one associated with your store and you'll be able to make your donation.
Can I edit a Store page?
No. The Store pages are only editable by IKEA UK & Ireland Head Office. You can make edits and changes to your own fundraising however. If you'd like to know more about personalising and sharing your fundraising page, check out JustGiving's help articles.
I’m from the Dublin store, how do I ensure my fundraising goes straight to Barnardo’s Ireland?
The IKEA Dublin page is linked straight through to Barnardo’s Ireland so all of the funds will go straight to the charity. All other IKEA store pages are linked to Barnardo’s UK.
Fundraising
Other than fundraising, how else can I get involved in the partnership?
There are lots of ways! Please get in contact with IKEA@barnardos.org.uk to have a chat about the different opportunities. Do also use this email address if you need any help.
I would like to take part in an organised challenge event such as the London Marathon or the Three Peaks Challenge for Barnardo’s - how do I do this?
Barnardo’s have a specialist events team to support you to take part in challenge events such as these ones, take a look at the website and get in touch with IKEA@Barnardos.org.uk to find out more. The team can even help with planning things like sponsored Skydives and overseas challenges
Where does my fundraising go, and how much of it is spent directly on supporting children, young people and families?
JustGiving has a 0% platform fee on donations made through the site to charities based in the UK and Ireland, so 100% of what you raise will go straight to Barnardo’s UK and Ireland.
In terms of how both of these charities spend this money,
- For every £1 donated to Barnardo’s UK, 91p on working with children and young people 3p on governance and pension finance costs the remaining 6p on raising the next £1.
- For every €1 donated to Barnardo’s Ireland, 84% is spent on working with children and young people 16% is spent on raising funds.
